Steps to Use Eko Software Alongside VisuWell

Preparation:

• Download the Eko windows app here
• Run the installer
  1. If it prompts you saying you need a newer version of Microsoft Visual C++, download that here
  2. Close the Eko installer
  3. Run the newly downloaded C++ installer
  4. Rerun the Eko installer
• Open the Eko app (should now be saved on your desktop)
• With the Eko app open, right click the icon on the bottom toolbar and click ‘Pin to Taskbar’ 

Originating Site (Patient Location):

• Check into your VisuWell session
• When time for Stethoscope use, open the Eko app
• Click ‘Sign In’ in the top righthand corner of the app, and log into your livestream account
• Power on your device:

For Eko Core: Slide the toggle on the head of the device to the on position. You should see a blue blinking light

For Eko Duo: Push and hold the silver button on the face of the device until it lights up

For 3M Littmann 3200: Push and hold the power button until the device turns on

 *If this is the first time the Littmann is being paired click the M button, then repeatedly click the + button until the arrow is next to pair. Then click the M button again to select pairing mode.

• Click Connect Device and select the device you want to use
• At the bottom of the Eko app, toggle Live Stream ON.
• Click ‘Copy Live Stream Link’
• Return to VisuWell session
• Click ‘Chat’ in the bottom righthand corner of the session
• Paste the livestream session link for your provider to join into
• Mute Microphone in VisuWell
• Return to Eko app for stethoscope use

Distant Site (Provider Location):

• Check into your VisuWell session
• Inform your other participant when it’s time to use the digital stethoscope
• Click ‘Chat’ in the bottom righthand corner of the session
• Click the Livestream link once it’s sent to you
